Cleaning Supervisor – Southland Hospital (Invercargill)

ISS is a leading workplace experience and facility services company, providing cleaning, catering, and support services to clients across New Zealand. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Weekend Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at Southland Hospital.

About the Role

As a Weekend Cleaning Supervisor, you will support the weekend operations of the cleaning services team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead by example, coach your team, and build strong relationships with both staff and our client.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and supporting a team of cleaning staff
• Coordinating daily work allocations and shift coverage
• Conducting quality inspections and ensuring cleaning standards are achieved
• Training, coaching, and mentoring team members
• Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
• Managing stock levels and ordering cleaning supplies
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures and infection prevention protocols
• Building positive relationships with hospital staff and key stakeholders
• Assisting with hands-on cleaning duties as required

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous supervisory or team leadership experience (cleaning, hospitality, healthcare, or facilities management preferred)
• Is a confident communicator with strong people skills
• Can motivate and support a diverse team
• Has excellent organisational and time management skills
• Is comfortable using computers and mobile technology
• Is committed to delivering exceptional customer service
• Understands the importance of health, safety, and infection control
• Is reliable, proactive, and solutions-focused

Previous experience in healthcare cleaning is advantageous but not essential.

Position Available

• 16 hours per week
• Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday)
